News and Notes:

Principal's Corner
Dear Families,

Happy Thanksgiving! Due to holiday travel, I thought it best to reiterate last week's principal's corner by leaving it up one more week.

You may be aware that California Department of Public Health has recently recommended a 14 day quarantine for those traveling out of state.  We are assuming that this recommendation will continue through the Christmas holidays.  If you will be travelling out of state, please keep this in mind. You may want to contact your teacher/s in advance to ensure you have the necessary school supplies to quarantine when you return.

I want to commend all of you for the prudence you have shown during this COVID pandemic.  We have had no cases at our school since we reopened. I ask that you continue to practice the same prudence that has kept us safe so that we can continue to keep our students and staff healthy, and ultimately keep our school open.

Enjoy the holidays, enjoy each other and stay safe.

Mrs. Dickert

Giving Tree
Christmas time is coming soon and we are preparing for our annual Giving Tree. St. Anthony’s Giving Tree is a heartwarming ministry that involves our entire parish. During the month of November and December leading up to Christmas, the Giving Tree Ministry acts as a vehicle so that members of our parish can share their blessings with those who are less fortunate in our community. We are asking for gift cards of any kind to give to a needy child in our community. Your generous donations also help families that are in various shelters and those that reach out for help during Christmas time.

Thanks to your generosity in 2019, St Anthony’s Giving Tree received 1338 gifts, helping approximately 270 families. Due to Covid-19 and in order to keep everyone safe, we are asking if you can please donate gift cards and drop them off in the mail slot at parish office or school office. Gift cards can be dropped off any time prior to December 15th. We will not be accepting gifts this year.
Christmas Baskets for St. Vincent de Paul
Our St. Vincent de Paul Ministry has been serving more families than ever during this pandemic.  We are asking for your help during the holiday season, to provide a Christmas dinner to those in need.  Each class has been given a list of food items to donate to help fill the Christmas food baskets. Fall food items must be collected by December 16th.  A complete list of requested items can be found on our website and Facebook page.  Thank you for your generosity!
Our vendor has started up again!  It'll still take a bit of time to get the order back, though.  So with that in mind our next order will go in on Wednesday, December 9th.  Order forms may be found on our website and hard copies are in the school office if you'd like us to send one home with your student.
School Shirts - Embroidery
Embroidery orders should be back this week. We are still accepting new orders if you need shirts processed. We will also have used uniforms out next week during parent conferences if you are in need of additional uniforms.
Washington DC/NYC March 15-19, 2021
7th and 8th grade families, there is still room to sign up for the Washington DC/New York City trip in March. This is a trip of a lifetime and one that you don't want to miss. The link to sign up can be found here:  (our school ID is 182086) or your can contact Jennifer Yeszin for additional trip information.
Computers from School
If you have borrowed a school computer for distance learning, please plan to bring it back once your child returns to classroom learning. Computers will not be sent home for students that are home sick unless you anticipate your child will be out more than three days.
Yearbook topics are NOT just for distance learners! This week our yearbook submission topic is your student's “MASK” fashion and the “LIFE SKILLS” your student is learning at home  - See the attached flyer for further details. Include the BOLDED key word and any other explanation in the Description field. You can email any questions to us at  (You can still send us your “COLLECTIONS,” “SPOOKY,” “FIRST DAY,” and “SUMMER" photos too.)

The best way to share photos for yearbook consideration is through our Herff Jones eShare account.  Download the app (HJ eSHare) for easy upload or upload from a web browser: and use school code: Roadrunner2021

We have also attached on our website “5 EASY TIPS for taking great pictures for the yearbook” to increase your chances of having your photos selected.
Thanks for your support!
