Very excited that we had a positive review from the Western Catholic Education Association team this past week. We have met our goals and will continue to work hard at providing your children with the best Catholic education.  Each year as a part of our internal review for WCEA, we send out a survey to parents, students and staff to ensure we are meeting your expectations.  It is an important part of the process and I encourage you to take part.  Those surveys will be sent out during the month of April.
First Grade News
With the Christmas season right around the corner and the first day of winter is fast approaching, I just have to say, "THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS FRIGHTFUL, BUT THE LEARNING IN 1ST GRADES IS DELIGHTFUL!  THEIR KNOWLEDGE HAS GROWN!  THEIR KNOWLEDGE HAS GROWN!  THEIR KNOWLEDGE HAS GROWN!  The 1st graders have been amazing.  They are working so hard this year, and I am very proud of the progress they have made.  In Reading, we are currently finishing up Unit 3 Nature Near and Far in our new Journey Reading program.  the early struggles with testing on the computers have completely disappeared.  I was shocked with how quickly the students mastered Think Central, Spelling City, IXL, and Starfall.  In Phonics, the students will continue to review blends and digraphs, and, presently, are working with long vowel sounds using the silent e. the Saxon Math program has been keeping the students very busy.  The students are working on addition and subtraction word problems, money, time, number patterns, graphing, and a little bit of geometry.  the students have been thriving in Language Arts.  It is fascinating to watch the students' writing skills develop on a daily basis.  I can not wait to see what they will be writing by the end of the year.  Most importantly, In Religion, we are focusing on the Advent season.  Each day the students think about and write down kind things they will do for a birthday gift to Jesus.  I have been blessed by God to have the opportunity to work with these wonderful 1st graders.  May you all have a Merry Christmas.  Ms. Crowley
No two-fers this year

As the Catholic world moves towards getting ready for Advent, you might notice the 4th Sunday of Advent falls on Christmas Eve this year and Christmas is NOT moved to the Sunday!

Yes, you will have to go to mass twice in one weekend.

Here are your options!
Option #1: Mass on Saturday evening + Mass on Sunday evening
Option #2: Mass on Saturday evening + Mass on Monday
Option #3: Mass on Sunday + Mass on Sunday evening
Option #4: Mass on Sunday + Mass on Monday
Option #5: Mass on Sunday evening (before 4pm) + Another Mass on Sunday evening (after the first Sunday evening Mass that they attended)
Option #6: Mass on Sunday evening + Mass on Monday

No, you cannot fulfill both your Sunday obligation and your Christmas obligation in one mass.  See you at church!
