News and Notes:

  • Scrip Hours: 8:00-9:00 daily in the Library

  • SEEDS  and Scholarship thank you letters are due next week.  Please drop off in the office with Mrs. K.
  • Spirit Day this Friday.  Uniform bottoms with CYO shirt, Harvest Festival shirt, Dance-a-thon shirt, and a canned good for St. Vincent de Paul

School Sunday Mass Readers
We are looking for students in grades 4 through 8 that would like to read at our School Masses on Sundays at the 8:45 am Mass.  Our first Sunday is September 22 (the weekend following the Harvest Festival) and each third Sunday of the Month following. We will need two readers for each Mass.  If you are interested, please email Mrs. Dickert 
Wednesday Specials
A link to the Wednesday Specials is now on the homepage of our website  and will begin Wednesday, August 21.  Students in choir may be picked up in the church all other students may be picked up in the gym at 3:00 pm. Those not picked up at 3:15 will be taken to Extended Care in the Library. Please bear with us the first couple of weeks while we flush out the details of our new schedule.
Yearbook News
We have begun taking orders for the 19-20 Yearbook. Order forms are available in the school office.  The cost until December 20th is $35.00 and we accept credit cards, cash or you can have it applied to your FACTS account. Online orders can be done at: 

We are looking for a couple of reliable people with good follow-through to join the yearbook team.
  • Someone who can take photos at events, upload the best ones to google drive in a timely manner. 
  • Someone who is good with computers preferably with some sort of graphic design.
  • A few middle school students who would like to help the yearbook team doing short paragraphs, photography, and advertising for the yearbook.

St. Anthony's School Parent Student Handbook
The SAS Parent Student Handbook updated last year in conjunction with the Diocese of Stockton Catholic Elementary Schools, so that we are consistent across the Diocese.  In doing our update, we found a few errors that have now been corrected.  The corrected handbook is on our school website and is available for download. The changes include:
  • Dress Code including red polo shirts for boys, gray shoes, white, navy and black socks.
  • The grading scale is now in line with the scale used by MUSD
  • The safe environment program was updated to our current program, Veritas.
  • The lunch price was updated to our current rate of $2.75

Art Docent News

Harvest Festival September 13-15
Our Annual Harvest Festival is upon us.  If you are interested in helping at a booth, we will have sign up sheets available in the school office.  Raffle ticket sales for the Tent Raffle are available for purchase in the school office.
CYO Cross Country and Girls Basketball
Time to sign up for Cross Country and Girls Basketball.  Forms can be found on the school website or in the school office.

Welcome Tiana Fabela - 5th grade Teacher

Ms. Fabela is an alumni of St. Anthony's School (2002) and had previously taught with Manteca Unified for the past five years in different teaching capacities.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Health and Human Services (2014), as well as a Master's in Elementary Education (2018).  She specializes in helping 4th-6th graders grow their English/Language Arts skills. 

Ms. Fabela will be getting married in November to her fiancé Steven, both of whom are from Manteca. If you see her, please be sure to stop and say hi!

Diocesan Catholic Schools Office Quarterly Newsletter
Our Superintendent, Marian Graham (and SAS alum) puts out a quarterly newsletter from our CSO office.  Please take a moment to click on the link and see what schools are up to in the Stockton Diocese.
Youth Ministry is Back!
SALTY - Youth Ministry for grades 4 and 5 will meet 2 times per month on Fridays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Rec Hall/Gym.  See the school calendar for specific meeting dates.  There is a parent meeting this Friday to find out more about the SALTY youth ministry program.  We would love to see you there.

EDGE - the Jr. High Youth Ministry program will be meeting on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Rec Hall/Gym beginning Monday, August 26.  There is a junior high parent meeting on Monday, August 26 - join us and find out more about the program and how you can get involved.
The Ties are In!
We have received the plaid ties and tab ties from Tommy Hilfiger and they are now for sale in the school office for $15 each.  Uniform Reminder - all shirts MUST have school logo this year after September 1st.   
Scholarship/SEED Thank You Letters
If you received either a SEEDS Award or a Scholarship from one of our many friends of St. Anthony's, please have your child/ren write a generic thank you letter that we can pass along.  We would like to have all letters in the office no later than August 29, 2019. 
Refer a Family - Earn one month Free Tuition
Refer a new family to St. Anthony's Catholic School, once the family is enrolled - you earn one month tuition credit to be applied to your FACTS account.  The more families you refer, the more credit you earn!  All credits will be applied during the month of December.
*Families must include your name in the referral section of the application to ensure you receive credit.
PreSchool Trike-a-thon
Friday, Sept 6 @ 9:00 am
Students will have 30 minutes to complete as many laps around the course as possible.
