Judy Stephens has a quilt in the Royal West of England Academy Friends exhibition now on at the Create Centre, Spike Island, Bristol, BS1 6XN until May 25. Work was selected by academicians Dallas Collins and Lucy Austin and gallerist Andy Phipps. The quilt uses patchwork and appliqué inspired by Judy’s own painted paper collages but the imagery became tangled with news coverage of the Ukraine war.

ACEArts is having an Arts Open competition and exhibition at their Gallery in Market Place, Somerton, Somerset, TA11 7NB. The exhibition will run from 21st May to 25th June, Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm. They are also having a fundraising event, ‘Your Art Here’ where artists are invited to donate one or two postcard-size works. The money raised will go to support their creative engagement projects in the local community. The art cards will be on sale at the Gallery from 21st May to 11th June. An opening event will take place on May 20th from 6 to 8pm. Alicia Merrett has had work accepted for the ACEArts Open exhibition, and will also be contributing to the postcard-size art fundraising event.
