Did you know... one in two married Tanzanian women have been emotionally, sexually or physically abused by their past or current husbands. How can we raise awareness about this important issue?

In June 2018, DCLI witnessed a remarkable confluence of Tanzania’s data ecosystem and fashion industry, as designers showcased attire made from a Data Khanga Design Challenge at Tanzania's first Data Khanga Fashion Show. The winning design has two hearts--one is colored in to note that one in two women are abused. Khangas are widely shared and passed on for generations.. this is how movements start!

Watch this video and read the blog to get an idea of the emotions, results, and energy felt at the Khanga Fashion Show.

Agapiti Manday, the DLI Innovation Challenge Project Manager was invited by the Millennium Foundation Kosovo to be the closing keynote at the Dig Data Launch of the Open Data Challenge in Kosovo. Agapiti shared insights and lessons learned on how to use data to fuel innovations and spark a data revolution.
