---------- What's New in RMS ----------

Guideline for Doctor's Note

The RMS Governance Committee has created a Guideline for Doctor's Note Form Template  that can be provided to Residents in order to assist them with the documentation required from their Physician (Doctor’s note) while on Medical Leave.
It is not mandatory to complete the form, however, it can serve as a point of reference.

The guideline was created to help prevent the upload of sensitive medical information to RMS.
We would also like to remind RMS users to ensure that documents uploaded to the system are in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).  Please refer to UBC’s Access and Privacy Guide for more information.

RMS PA Landing Page:  Policies & Guidelines

Effective Monday, April 10th, the Policies & Guidelines section will contain "quick reference" information on RMS processes (e.g. which rotation exceptions require uploaded documents or the PGME Associate Dean's signature).

The section will also include links directing users where to find more comprehensive information.

---------- RMS Updates ----------

Contract vs Letter of Offer

To ensure consistency and to be in accordance with our Common Business Language, all references to "Contract" in RMS have been replaced with "Letter of Offer".

Only the name has been updated - everything else, such as where to find it in RMS, remains the same.

Statutory Holiday Submission Form

PGME has consulted with Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC)  and have been instructed to add the following language to the Statutory Holiday submission form and email notifications:

PLEASE NOTE:  There are no changes to the eligibility and process for Statutory Holidays.
== R M S   T I P ==

Need more info from Resident's Stat submission?

To send a submission back to a Resident (e.g. to request an upload of their call schedule, more info on shift, etc.), please select the Workflow Action:  Request Additional Information.

Please use the Comments field to instruct the Resident on what is required - enter your comments below the Resident's comment and don't forget to include your initials and date.

RMS will send an e-mail notification to the Resident to view their returned submission (with the comments you have entered) and re-submit.

PGME Residency Syllabus Template

We highly encourage you to check out the PGME Residency Syllabus Template  that was presented at the PGME Administrator Meeting on March 28, 2107.

The syllabus serves as a helpful tool to calculate PGY Start/End Dates and Estimated Completion Dates (ECD) for Residents with multiple rotation exceptions in RMS.

PLEASE NOTE:  The syllabus is an Excel file and should be converted to PDF if it is being uploaded to RMS.

If you require assistance with the syllabus, please contact Delfa Balagot, Resident Coordinator.
