A second workshop covering General Data Protection Regulations is being held on the 28th February since the one scheduled for the 21st February is full.

Attendance to any of the workshops is at €55 + VAT.

Penalty Point System... Implications

The penalty point system was extended to all drivers as of the 1st December 2017. Many are already aware how this system works and that the accumulation of points over a 12 month period may lead to the suspension of one's driving license. On the other hand not all companies, especially those leasing cars for single use or multiple use drivers are aware of the implications this system has brought about.

It is now recommendable that  companies have their car policy in place which sets out clear procedures which make sure that points are assigned to the person who was actually driving the car and not a company director or the person on whose name the vehicles are leased.
We started the year promoting a number of workshops and the response was brilliant. In fact we just have a couple of seats left for the workshop in March (Taxation of Employment Income) and a repeat of the workshop of the New Data Protection Regulations shall be held on the 28th February as the 1st workshop is now fully booked. Thank you all for your support and loyalty.

We are also pleased (super pleased) to having a new team member join us. Angelito Sciberras is 21 Law’s new Chief Business Officer.

This is only the beginning of the year and we are at full speed however I have no doubt that we will not slow down and we shall keep you updated and busy with various workshops to attend.

We want to hear from you. Is there any topic in particular you feel we should address? Would you like to write in our newsletter or website blog? If yes please do get in touch – you are an extension of our firm.
Pay discrimination - watch out!

The Employment and Industrial Relations Act regulates the equal pay for equal work provision and requires that employees in the same class of employment are entitled to same rate of remuneration for work of equal value. Hence in Malta the equal pay for equal work goes beyond gender wage gaps.
