We've a couple of events coming up this month that we want to let you know about. One is a Public Meeting this Thursday, and the other is our annual Seafood Picnic at the end of the month. We'd love to see you at one or both!
Please make every effort to come to the Public Meeting at 8.30pm next Thursday, 18th July at Rowhedge Village Hall, to discuss the possible purchase of the Pump House building.
The Pump House is situated at the far end of the High Street. It is currently under threat of demolition by the developers, however RHT has managed to secure an option to purchase the building for the benefit of the community. The Trust will need to make a firm commitment to buy the building within the next three months, so time is very short.
The purpose of Thursday's meeting is to provide details of the current state of the building, the Trust's vision for its future and to promote interest from the community to support the project. There will be an opportunity to share your views and to have your questions answered.
We hope that as many people as possible will attend the meeting and support us in our quest to save the last remaining historic building on the old Rowhedge wharf site. We look forward to seeing you there.
We will be holding our annual Seafood Picnic on Lion Quay on Sunday 28th July, from 1.30pm onwards.
We welcome you to join us at this popular event. Seafood platters are available for £12 for a single platter, £22 for a double platter. Please contact Lucy Bannatyne on 07979 985699 to order a platter and/or oysters. NB we can only cater for 80 platters in all, so do book early to avoid disappointment!
If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own picnic and come and join us. Teas & home-made cakes will be served from the barge Alberdina, moored alongside.
