Hi <<First Name>>.

Black Lives Matter.

We see in the current administration's response to this moment the reason we must all work together to elect our candidates this year: from Joe Biden, Cory Booker, and Mikie Sherrill at the national level to Kate Barry and Amanda Richardson here in town.

If you haven't been following the protests, the NY Times has an updated timeline that includes some of Trump's response:

If you are wondering how to get involved or support the movement, we have three suggestions: helping us turn out the vote, donating to relevant organizations, and protesting.

Turning out the vote
Please join us this Saturday, June 6th, at 11:30 AM on Zoom for a virtual phone bank. We will be calling people to let them know to expect ballots in the mail and to answer any questions they have in advance of the July 7th primary. We will send out more information and a Zoom link later in the week.

Black Lives Matter Morristown is selling hats.
George Floyd's family has set up a GoFundMe.
The Minnesota Freedom Fund is paying bail for protesters in Minneapolis (and look at the National Bail Fund Network for funds in other locations).
The Obama Foundation has a page with resources and suggestions.

Finally, if you're comfortable, there are more protests and demonstrations going on in our county and nearby in the next week. Please be sure to wear a mask and practice social distancing if you choose to attend:

Wednesday, June 3rd in Madison at 12 PM (50 Kings Road)
Thursday, June 4th in Hackensack at 5:30 PM (Hackensack Courthouse)
Saturday, June 6th in West Orange at 12:30 PM (66 Main Street)
Saturday, June 6th in Morristown at 6 PM (County Courthouse)
Sunday, June 7th in Mount Olive at 3 PM (Turkey Brook Park)
Sunday, June 7th in Kinnelon at 3 PM (Kinnelon Road)
Saturday, June 13th in Verona at 1 PM (Verona Park)
