NWCG Executive Board
Leaders Intent Regarding Training Delivery for the 2021-2022 Training Season
NWCG Memo 21-004 encourages the interagency community to categorize training and its development and coordination as mission critical. This is essential to ensure NWCG member agencies continue to develop and maintain the capacity to effectively manage fuels and respond to wildland fires. The recommendation is not intended to imply a departure from the advancements made in distance learning. Rather, to encourage member agencies to continue providing safe and effective distance learning opportunities. The NWCG Executive Board also encourages the pursuit of safe, creative and innovative solutions for critical training deemed most suitable for in-person delivery.

National Wildfire Coordinating Group
Our mission is to provide national leadership to enable interoperable wildland fire operations among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners.  NWCG operations standards are interagency by design; they are developed with the intent of universal adoption by the member agencies.  However, the decision to adopt and utilize them is made independently by the individual member agencies and communicated through their respective directives systems.
