Revised course materials are now available for download from NWCG. Course content has been updated to reflect current wildland fire operations practices and position duties. The final examination is replaced with a Student Evaluation Task Sheet. The Incident Response Pocket Guide (IRPG), PMS 461, is used as the student workbook.

The IRPG is the only cache item needed for course delivery. The 10 and 18 Poster, PMS 110-18, is an optional material that may be ordered.

Our mission is to provide national leadership to enable interoperable wildland fire operations among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners.  NWCG operations standards are interagency by design; they are developed with the intent of universal adoption by the member agencies.  However, the decision to adopt and utilize them is made independently by the individual member agencies and communicated through their respective directives systems.
