Release of Updated NWCG Standards for Wildland Fire Position Qualifications
The document titles have changed from NIMS Wildland Fire Qualification System Flow Chart, PMS 308, and NIMS Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide, PMS 310-1.
Revised wildland fire qualifications publications are available for use by the interagency wildland fire community.
It is the intent of the IPSC to transition to a web-based PMS 310-1 in October 2020. All information will still be available to print from the NWCG website. The web-based publication, PDF, and NWCG Position Catalog are all available at the PMS 310-1 link below.
Our mission is to provide national leadership to enable interoperable wildland fire operations among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners. NWCG operations standards are interagency by design; they are developed with the intent of universal adoption by the member agencies. However, the decision to adopt and utilize them is made independently by the individual member agencies and communicated through their respective directives systems.
