FireNet SOP & Electronic Documentation (eDoc Box)

The establishment of standard business practices in the use and management of FireNet across functional areas, IMTs, and Geographic Areas will strengthen the operating system, limit repetition and variations by IMTs, and create consistency for all users. This SOP includes Approved Positional Account Requests, Incident Shared Inboxes, and TEAMS Channels and folder structures.

Additionally, the Incident Planning Subcommittee (IPS) has created standards and a filing structure for electronic records (eDoc Box). The materials are available on the IPS webpage and built into each FireNet incident for immediate use by IMTs.

Provide feedback on incidents using the FireNet Incident Team User Survey, found on the Incident Setup Page. This feedback will be reviewed by NWCG committees next winter to continue to improve these standards for all users.

Our mission is to provide national leadership to enable interoperable wildland fire operations among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners. NWCG operations standards are interagency by design; they are developed with the intent of universal adoption by the member agencies. However, the decision to adopt and utilize them is made independently by the individual member agencies and communicated through their respective directives systems.
