RDAMNC invites you to join us to inspire new thinking, vibrant conversations and to form collaborative partnerships as we Ignite the Mid North Coast.
In 2019, the Ignite MNC Symposium will be held on 6 November at the fabulous Slim Dusty Centre in Kempsey and embraces the theme of "Your Word 2030".
With a full day program, attendees will hear from a stellar line up of speakers sharing their future insights across Business, Skills and Place. The day offers activations to engage the audience in future facing concepts.
Keynote speaker for this year is Steve Sammartino. Steve is the technology reporter for ABC Radio National and his breadth of experience gives him an uncanny ability to make sense of how technology is shaping society and the economy.

Blueprint for Youth Pathways trial
The trial of of our platform was conducted from March to July and is now completed. During the trial 38 employers,11 service providers and 50 young people registered. A direct outcome of the trial was the connection of 10 young people with employers who have jobs available in our region. The next stage is to commercialise our solution, stay tuned we may have more info on this very soon.

SEGRA Conference
Pathways Officer Steve Montgomery attended the recent SEGRA, Australia’s premier conference on regional issues and delivered a presentation to showcase the work that RDAMNC is doing with employers to support youth employment in our region at the conference.
STEM Industry School Partnerships
The STEM Industry School Partnerships (SISP) initiative encourages young people to engage with science, technology, engineering and maths. Pathways Officer Steve Montgomery is involved with the delivery of the programme in the MNC. Focused primarily on Hastings Secondary College and Kempsey High School the programme has engaged industry, tertiary and local government partners in a range of engaging STEM activities and is enjoying great success

Skills Snapshot
Data collected from the recently completed Skills Snapshot, a project conducted in partnership between Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) and Regional Development Australia Northern Rivers (RDANR) will help to understand local skill gaps that exist and assist in the development of locally based policies and programs. 
The lucky winner of the prize of an iPad was Trudi Hayes from the Nambucca Valley. Trudi is currently involved in the running of two local businesses and a community organisation.
A report summarising the findings of the project will be released in September. RDAMNC and RDANR would like to thank all those that took the time to participate in the Skills Snapshot.
Other news and projects
Foundation For Rural & Regional Renewal Funding Application
RDAMNC facilitated a meeting of over 30 local community groups drafting the first version of an application that was completed by a nominated group. The application was successful for first tranche of funding of $60K and may lead to further funding.
Funding Opportunity – Community Environment Projects
The Communities Environment Program provides each of the 151 electorates across Australia with up to $150,000 to fund small, community-led environment projects that address local environmental priorities. In consultation with their community, each Federal Member of Parliament must identify potential applicants and projects in their electorate and invite them to apply for a grant.

MNCLHD - Health Link National Photographic Competition 
The competition provides a platform for the community to express their concept of Healthy Life, Healthy You. Consisting of four categories Primary and High School, Mobile, Open and is open to all Australian residents.
