It is a compilation of true stories and essays originally published on her blog over the span of ten years. This book tells Evelyne's journey as an immigrant who acquired a new language and culture as an adult, mostly through her children and her avid reading. Ultimately, she was able to write fiction and nonfiction in her nonnative language, something she never considered when she left France for the USA.
