May Mission of the Month Highlight
St. Mark loves the Community Resource Center! Thanks to all who helped clean and organize their facilities last Sunday. Please continue to pray for this important support organization in our community.
New Adult Bible Study
Sundays @ 9 am

Pastor Joel is beginning a new Bible Study series on Sunday mornings at 9 am. In this four-session video-based study, bestselling author and historian Eric Metaxas will help us discover the major themes of Lutheran Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s writing and speaking and how he not only helped transform an entire faith community in Germany during World War II, but how the truths he found in Holy Scripture continue to bless and challenge the Christian faith of people throughout the world today.

A Special Prayer on Memorial Day
By Rob Kerby

“As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please guard our servicemen and women and cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence as they stand in the gap for our protection. We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray your peace, provision, and strength will fill their lives. May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. In the name of Jesus. Amen.”

June Mission of the Month
Ronald McDonald House
Sunday, June 16th @ 4 pm

The Mission of the Month for June is Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year, Melissa Clark is leading a team to serve dinner on June 16th for families staying at RMCH while their children are at Rady Children’s Hospital (something about food and Melissa makes a good team). Since the kitchen at Rady’s is being remodeled, instead of cooking food this year, we will provide catered food that our volunteers will set up, serve and clean up afterwards. We need 16 people, ages 12 and up to help make this mission a success. A sign-up sheet is available in the Welcome Center. Contact Melissa Clark at
Vacation Bible School Donations

We will be wrapping up our spring donation drive for Vacation Bible School on June 1st. It's not too late to participate! Check out our donation board in our "ROAR" safari on the backstage of the Fellowship Hall. If you don't find something you like we are still taking monetary donations. You can pick up a VBS envelope on the registration table or simply mark an envelope "VBS"  and place it in the offering plate. Checks can be made out to St. Mark Lutheran Church and write "VBS" in the memo line. You can also go onto our church website at and click the "giving" tab, scroll down to "VBS", click on it, and donate. Any donations are greatly appreciated. A donation box for purchased items will be available this Sunday on the ROAR stage.
Registration is filling up fast so if you have a registration packet for your children and you haven't turned it in, please do so soon. Volunteers are still needed as well. Please contact Cindy Postel at or Kristen Beyer at if you have any questions or wish to help out.
