October Mission of the Month Preview
CRC Food Drive

October’s Mission of the Month is to help the Community Resource Center (CRC) provide nutritious food to needy local families. Last year the CRC with support from people like us, helped over 450 households including seniors, homeless and struggling families select healthy food and access nutrition training. To do our part in this great cause, St. Mark will hold a Nutritious Food Drive from October 1st through October 20th.

Paper grocery bags will be available each Sunday and during the week throughout the event. A list of desired “nutritious” food with the most frequently requested items highlighted will be posted on the Mission’s Bulletin Board and attached to each grocery bag. For more information, contact Dave Kendall, Mission Sponsor at aekdck@roadrunner.com.
Fall Festival
Sunday, October 13th after Church

Our preschool and church will be holding its Annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 13th after church. The focus of the event is for families to get to know each other. Great food, music, and activities will be included. Families are invited to bring costumes. We are in need of volunteers to organize and lead games/crafts for the children. If you would like to volunteer and be a part of the festivities, please contact Crystal Dirks at crystaljock@gmail.com.
The Divine Drama
Starting Sunday, October 20th @ 9 am

The story that unfolds between Genesis and Revelation is not a remote one, buried under the layers of history. It is vital and ongoing—and today, we are at ‘center stage’. Explore the Divine Drama with Pastor Joel on Sunday mornings beginning October 20th to see the connections between the Old and New Testaments and discover what it all means for our own “divine drama” that’s in progress.
Financial Peace University
Sunday, October 20th @ 9 am

Tom Ahrendt will be leading a nine-lesson course designed to help you build a budget, dump debt, grow your wealth, and leave money stress behind. Each video lesson, taught by Dave Ramsey and his team of financial experts, is based on biblical wisdom and common sense. Join Tom on Sunday, October 20th at 9 am and let us know that you are coming. Sign up today at the Welcome Center or RSVP to tom_ahrendt@yahoo.com.
Pastor Appreciation
Sunday, October 27th

October is Pastor Appreciation Month. You are invited to write a note and or bring a card and place it in the basket provided in the entrance of our church. The basket will be available through October 27th which is Pastor Appreciation Sunday. Prayers are also appreciated.
Youth Night
October 27th @ 5 pm

This month’s Youth Night theme is Halloween! In addition to playing some hilarious board games and eating lots of great junk food, the youth will also be learning the Christian roots of Halloween and how to have a Christ-centered approach to the forces of evil in our world. Youth are encouraged to come in costume. The best costume will win a prize! Contact Pastor Joel at pastor@stmarkchurch.net for more information.
Reformation Day Celebration
Sunday, October 27th @ 10 am

October 27th is Reformation Sunday where we celebrate the foundation of our salvation: Christ Alone. We will enjoy a time of fellowship and good old-fashioned Oktoberfest food following the church service. Bratwurst will be provided by the church, but we need you to sign up to bring side dishes and condiments. Sign up at church or contact Pam Dugmore at bp@dugmoredesignstudio.com if you would like to help out!
