Welcome to the July edition of Network Notes.
Wow, halfway through the year already. I am slowly catching up on all the things that need to be done. I have been working on the website to bring all the SGLN web pages into one site, plus manage the network notes email data base within the webpage. (I am hoping to have an online payment system for Landcare membership renewals, but that has taken longer that I hoped as well. It should be up and running within the next few weeks.)
I have had very positive feedback about the new site, and hope you will contact me with feedback if I have missed something. One thing I am very excited about (and no it doesn't take much) is our interactive map that you can find on the 'Groups' page. It has an overlay of the EVC's over the aerial map, which has property boundaries and group boundaries. It has distance and area measuring tools. Now you can easily see what the vegetation class of your property was back in the 1700's before land clearing, and you can measure potential project areas. For new members there is the ability to learn what Landcare group their property is in. I have also loaded facebook feeds of each of the groups that have them onto their group pages. This way it is easy to keep our pages up to date.
cheers for this month, Jill
