Dear Portlander,

Last week I released my full proposed FY 2022-23 annual budget, if you haven’t had the opportunity, review it here. My proposed budget was discussed by the city budget committee during a May 5th work session, if you missed it, view it here.

I called this proposal “a budget with ears” to reflect how much listening went into this process.

Portlanders have shared their concerns and priorities with me directly through emails, letters, social media messages, and City Council testimony. I’ve been listening, taking note, and believe this budget reflects the urgent needs and wants from Portlanders.

Now, my proposed budget moves to be approved by the city's budget committee (i.e. City Council) on May 11 at 2:00pm. I’m not done listening— you can submit written testimony by emailing or sign up to provide virtual testimony by Wednesday May 11 at 1:00pm.
