This Black History Month, New England JFON celebrates our Black communities and their contributions to our society today and every day. We honor Black-led organizations and the tireless efforts of Black immigrant organizers, attorneys, and activists and continue to join them in working toward an end to our racist immigration system.
Black immigrants are more likely to be detained and deported than any other immigrant group. Further, their bonds are significantly higher and their asylum claims are less likely to be approved.
On average, Black migrants serve the longest length of time in detention, and they are six times more likely to be placed in solitary confinement. During Black History Month, please consider donating to the Black Immigrant Bail Fund. bit.ly/3odbK4m
