As announced at our 10th Birthday Party, Gary Richards - Board Chair and one of the founders of New England Justice for Our Neighbors - will soon pass the baton to the next generation of leadership. During the past decade, he has been instrumental in helping hundreds of immigrants obtain free, expert legal advice and relief in the form of humanitarian-based visas.
Before he runs off, Gary is dedicating a 100-mile ultra-race to New England Justice for Our Neighbors and our brave clients. On October 15th and 16th, he will run the 100-mile Ghost Train ultra-race in New Hampshire for a second time. In this race, competitors must complete 100 miles in 30 hours or less!
"I have been blessed with feet and legs that have carried me through more than 40 ultra-marathons, most of them 31 miles or more," says Gary. "I have run one 100-miler, and I can think of no better reason to attempt another than to raise funds for New England Justice for Our Neighbors. I am dedicating this race to the brave immigrants whom we serve at New England JFON and to all migrants seeking justice."
You can sponsor Gary's race here by selecting an amount for each mile that he runs, and then follow his preparation and progress on the Miles for Migrants blog, https://milesformigrants.blogspot.com.
Gary also invites any runners among you to join him for all or part of the race, especially during the midnight to dawn shift!
Thank you for your support, and stay tuned!
