News & Updates
This Saturday, October 24, RiverKids will be hosting a Fall Fest
for families. This family event will be a chance to connect with one another in a fun and casual atmosphere. As long as weather permits, it will be an outdoor gathering at RiverCross Church on Saturday, October 24th. Please come for 2pm in your best, family friendly costume. There will be music, games to play, and snacks to enjoy. We will close out our afternoon with a fun costume parade for anyone who would like to participate. The parade will begin at 3:30 and be a great opportunity for some photographs. Please register
each member of the family planning to attend.
at RiverCross is now underway! We have an ambitious financial goal of $35,000. With the money we raise, we will be taking care of many people, well in excess of the 140 families, 30 youth, and 40 adults we usually help and encourage each Christmas season. We are also streamlining how we do all this, to comply with COVID protocols. We are using a limited number of volunteers selectively, to keep things safely manageable. And we are moving exclusively to giving out gift cards instead of packing Christmas gift and grocery bags. It's a different year, but our plan is to still act compassionately and generously in God's name. Thank you in advance for your financial support of this ministry. If you choose to give towards this by etransfer, here's how:
Here’s the info you need to set it up:
Name: RiverCross Church
Password: Rivercross211 (It’s important that we all use the same password)
**Please make sure to add "Christmas Outreach" to the message/comment when sending money through etransfer so they know where to designate the money to.
There are lots of new ways to connect at RiverCross this Fall, both in-person and online. Click here for more infomation and to register.
Opportunities for This Week
Men, COVID-19 has hit us hard. It has brought new challenges into our lives and amplified familiar ones. We don’t have to face them alone. We all could use encouragement and a chance to connect to chat about them. Join us for a 7 week virtual study on ‘7 Challenges Men Encounter’
by Vince Miller starting October 28th! Facilitated by Jason Deering via Zoom. Be a part of the conversation! Click here
The Youth and Family Pastor search committee
have been meeting weekly throughout the summer. The position was posted in September on the CBAC (Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada) website and other partner Baptist Associations in Canada. The committee will now be meeting with Dan Pyke, Director of Youth and Family Ministries with CBAC, to determine next steps. Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment as we follow the Lord's leading.
