Last Sunday night we had our first-ever Portuguese worship service with many members of our Portuguese community participating. We had about 40 people in attendance including some Portuguese speakers who don't normally attend RiverCross, and we also had 140 devices watching the service live! It was a great night and a great encouragement to our Portuguese community.
On Monday night we had our first 50+ gathering since last February. We had a BBQ with lots of fun and great food and 38 people in attendance. It was a great time to gather outside and share a meal while renewing acquaintances and making some new ones as well. Lots of food, laughs, prizes and even a quiz to help us know our church family a bit better. And the rain held off until the very end! Special thanks to everyone who came to participate.
This past week we had our last virtual summer camp "Focus
" with the option for families to register for their children to attend two of those days in person. We had 20 children in the church on Monday and Wednesday. Thank you for your prayers. This was a wonderful experience for the children, volunteers, and summer students! Look for an update of how the week went at the end of this Sunday's service!
We want to congratulate Sarah Jane and Jerry He on the birth of their daughter Eliana Xialan He, born August 21st!
Robert McAnespey was voted as the new Pastor of Murray Harbour Baptist Church in PEI. Congratulations Robert!
We would like to extend thanks to Todd and Jill Potter and Giant Tiger for donating the food for our Outreach BBQ. Todd, Jill, and Giant Tiger have been faithful supporters of our Outreach events and we appreciate them very much.
