Now Accepting Applications
for the 2018 Summer Writing Group

The SWG Program brings faculty members from all disciplines and career stages to be in small groups to spur writing productivity and foster cross-disciplinary connections. The Program begins with an Orientation meeting in May that allows interested faculty members to meet with the groups to which they have been assigned on the basis of their expressed preferences. Groups meet regularly throughout the summer at times that suit them and have the freedom to structure their activities as they wish. Register Here

CFE Leadership Updates

CFE launched the spring semester with a new Faculty Leadership Development and Professional Skills Series to enhance faculty leadership skills. The sessions focused on effective listening, giving and receiving feedback, and managing conflict. Faculty gained new insights for understanding their own styles and approaches, and learned to apply the skills necessary to build and lead professional relationships and groups. Please find out more about our upcoming leadership programs here.

UNC Summer Institute on Scientific Teaching

The College of Arts and Sciences and the Summer School will host a five-day professional development experience to provide instructors with effective strategies for improving student learning, August 6-10, 2018. If you teach in the social or natural sciences, please consider applying. All participants completing the program will be named National Academies Education Fellows.
