Energy efficient cities (Part Two): Building-level solutions, microgrids and IoT
IoT for AllMicrogrids and IoT solutions are unlocking powerful ways to reduce energy consumption in buildings. Use of these technologies can help both commercial and residential buildings lower their energy costs and prevent wasting energy.
ACEEE - The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a proposal that could seriously undermine US energy efficiency standards for many appliances and products — everything from air conditioners and refrigerators to light bulbs and electric motors. Last month, it proposed a rule that would allow individual manufacturers to opt out of testing requirements.
Taft Midway Driller - The County of Siskiyou was presented with a Pacific Power wattsmart Business Partner of the Year award to recognize energy efficiency installed measures at county facilities.
RMI - Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) wants to coordinate your entire neighborhood to save you money, and save the climate. RMI widened its focus to whole districts of buildings and discovered new ways to harness advances in clean energy to create an entirely new business model that allows for sustainability benefits that go far beyond economies of scale.
