Vigils to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants

Lights for Liberty is the coordinating organization for vigils across the USA, Canada, Europe and virtually for Americans abroad to be held this Friday, July 12. Several of these vigils will be held in in New Jersey. See event list here.

The Newark Vigil has been organized by Lights for Liberty and the
SOMA (South Orange Maplewood Action). Rev. Terrence Moran, Director of the Office of Peace, Justice and Ecological Integrity, Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, is organizing a bus to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark where immigrants are detained. The vigil will commence outside the facility at 7 PM.

If you are interested in taking the bus from Convent Station, please contact
Father Moran or Gerry Gannon, RAMP Coordinator, today, Tuesday, July 9. They would appreciate having a count to make the necessary arrangements. Thank you.
