This one-day seminar brings together short keynote presentations from professional athletes and clinically relevant and practical workshops focused on biomechanics, foot orthoses and cycling. Delegates will rotate through concurrent workshops, in small groups of 15, facilitated by Artur Maliszewski, Dr Chris Bishop and Lewis Citroen. Podiatrists will take-away practical skills to immediately implement into clinical practice.

Clinical assessment of biomechanics —what to assess to gain important information with limited time
*participants will be given a biomechanical template to use in their practice

The latest orthotic modifications — new arch fill techniques, sweet spot, variable thickness – when and how to use them.

A B O U T   T H E    S P E A K E R S
 
Jeff Riseley is three-time Olympian competing in the 800m and 1500m track events, with personal best times of 1.44.48 (800) and 3.32.93 (1500). Jeff will share his personal story about how he overcame foot problems leading into the Rio Olympics.
 
Sean Lake is an Australian professional cyclist. Recently, he won the King of the Mountains jersey on the first stage of the 2016 Tour Down Under. Sean will share his personal experience of using cycling orthoses.
 
Dr Chris Bishop is a podiatrist and ASICS industry funded Research Fellow in the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA) at UniSA. Chris established the ARENA Gait & Performance Analysis Laboratory at UniSA, with his research in the lab relating to foot function, athletic footwear and foot orthotic design during walking and running.
 
A/Prof Karl Landorf is a well-known podiatric researcher and academic in Australia. In his role as Chair and Trustee of the Australian Podiatry Education & Research Foundation (APERF), Karl will provide an update on APERF funded research projects.
 
Lewis Citroen is a podiatrist working as an orthotic technical advisor for Footwork and is the first and only podiatrist working for the Royal Children's Hospital.
 
Artur Maliszewksi is a podiatrist and the Managing Director of Footwork. He has been manufacturing foot orthoses for more than 25 years.
