Pastor's Devotional...
October 29, 2020

We continue our self test quest to know ourselves better, recognize our shortcomings and draw upon the Spirit’s strength to become more Christlike. Quarantining and social distancing can be hidden blessings to enhance the process.
The last self test question relates to the basic issue of knowing the actual reason I am here; why did God make me? It’s only in fulfilling one’s purpose, doing that for which we are designed, that completeness, contentment, fulfillment is experienced.
“Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” This first statement in the Westminster Shorter Catechism summarizes the Bible’s answer to “Why am I here?” We glorify God or make Him look good by praising through worship and a worshipful lifestyle. (“Praise the Lord” is the most common phrase in Scripture.) Hence our last self test question is “Do I worship God?” Remember that worship is both corporate (with others) and private (devotional or singing along to a recording of praise music): that it can be done in a church structure or in mother nature as God is complimented for the beauty there; that we glorify Him with our voices but with our actions also in doing our job “as unto the Lord” with excellence.
Again, the question, “Do I worship God?” Where there is room for improvement remember, in any areas God does really good work in crisis times. “For my own name’s sake, for the sake of my praise…I have refined you…I have tested you in the furnace of affliction…” Isaiah 48:9-11.
My Creator and Redeemer, refine me in the furnace of this pandemic, purify me to Your glory that my worship, my entire life will reflect your power, grace, goodness and love, back to You and out to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

As we continue to serve our Quest Church family during these unusual times, our usher greeter team is experiencing a great need for more volunteers. Some of our volunteers have had changes in their availability and are not able to serve as they had signed up for. We understand there are those who have conditions that prevent you from participating and we are asking that you stay home and stay safe, first and foremost, but for others, would you consider serving once a month again to relieve those who are stressed by serving every week?
We have procedures and protocols in place that cover the safety of our usher/greeters and those attending church.
Remember, we only have one service on Sundays at 10am. (if you prefer coming Saturday evenings for the 6pm service, we will be glad to have you serve then too!)
Thank you to those who are currently serving and continue to serve.

Contact Ervin Bracy Bracye003@gmail.com Michelle mdiaz@questpc.org  Yaw leksak2006@hotmail.com  if you are willing to serve!
Thank you!
