We Wish...
... you a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2021!
We wish you'd visit The Beal Center

The Historic Courthouse Beal Center is decorated for Christmas. Come visit to enjoy the beautiful décor and Christmas trees in the conference room, the Paul & Ann Price History Room, the Ronnell S. Beal Foundation Office, and the Abner and Carol Moore Courtroom.  The Courthouse grounds are also ready for the season!  Historic Hayesville, Inc., led by Sandy Zimmerman, organized the hanging of the wreaths on the outside of the Beal Center, the wrapping of the lamp posts, and the decorating of the gazebo. Mayor Harry Baughn led the effort to add special lights on the square and CCCRA’s Michael Borkman and Kaylyn and his crew from KLN Environmental decorated the official Christmas tree in the yard Lawns Unlimited did a stellar job cleaning up the grounds.  It truly takes a village, and we are very grateful to all who had a part in the holiday adornment of the Beal Center and it’s grounds!

A huge thank you to Ann & Paul Price, Dorothy Ethridge, Vickie & Hugh Ware, Randy Gleaves, Felice Bourque, and Vickie Tatum for all your hard work picking up and setting up trees, as well as providing your decorating skills! In addition, a special thanks to Ann and Dorothy for all the extra hours shopping, bow making, and adding their expertise to making our decor super-special, and for creating beautiful gift baskets for sale in the shop.

Closed Dec 24-30th and Jan 1st.
Winter hours begin Jan 2nd.
 Wednesday - Saturday 10am-4pm.
We wish you'd "Get Out"...
... during the holidays and enjoy the beautiful nature of Clay County and CCCRA's outdoor spaces.  Get some fresh air at the Cherokee Homestead Exhibit.  Walk off a few of those holiday cookies on the Quanassee Path.  Hike or ride off the pandemic pounds on the Jackrabbit Mountain Trail System. When you're taking in the Beal Center decorations, ask for brochures about these sites!
Board Bytes!

We wish there were more like him!

CCCRA Director Rob Tiger is a native of Clay County, having been born and raised in the community. He settled here after attending Western Carolina University and earning a degree is social sciences with a focus on anthropology.
Rob served eight terms as president and two terms as vice president of CCCRA, and has long chaired the Cherokee Culture committee over his 21-year dedication to this organization. His fingerprints are all over the Cherokee Homestead Exhibit and the Spikebuck Mound site, and his footprints were one of the first on the Quanassee Path.

Rob's leadership and knowledge were instrumental in helping CCCRA develop
relationships with WCU, Warren Wilson College, Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, Cherokee Preservation Foundation, The Conservation Fund’s Resourceful Communities, Museum of the Cherokee Indian, Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians

In recognition of outstanding contributions to the preservation and interpretation of the history and culture of Southern Appalachian issues, Rob received WCU's Mountain Heritage Award in 2012.  Rob served as project manager for the Tribute to Traditional Music sculpture, funded by BRNHA, which sits in front of Hayesville Town Hall.

If you don't know Rob through his work with CCCRA, you undoubtedly know him as the fourth generation owner of
Tigers/Chinquapins, where he works alongside wife Holly Stearns and daughter Lauren.  Rob has previously served on the boards of the Hinton Center, Clay County Historical & Arts Council, Handmade in America and Southern Highroads.  And if you didn't know all of that, you may have seen songwriter and singer Rob in the gazebo, or on-stage at the Peacock Performing Arts Center, as part of the Songwriters Showcase he leads.
