Greetings from the Office of the President!
Having written that it seems to be an overstatement and totally counter to the principle of servant leadership. So, let’s try it again...
Greetings fellow members who are mostly working from our offices at home!
I am humbled and honored to serve in this role for the year 2020. Or rather in the years/seasons of 2020. The talented members that serve in our organization are what brings out a feeling of humility. The willingness of members to serve and in many cases to commit an extraordinary amount of their personal time to serve others is truly commendable.
Let me highlight our newest service area - Executives in Transition
. Originally, Ken Cage brought up the idea of providing support and services to Executives who are currently in or anticipating transitioning in their careers. Thanks Ken! There is an outstanding committee that has been formed under Don Nebhan
. They have been developing a training/development series to assist those who are looking for that next opportunity. When asked, the members of this committee without exception, accepted the challenge and have been meeting weekly for several months to develop this program. They developed a comprehensive program of speakers. They are in the process of recording sessions for posting on our website and conducting biweekly meetings with our first 8 executives who are in the program. The entire curriculum is several months long. Only in Business Navigators would a group of talented individuals like Rich Russo, Mark Mitford, Tom Bronson, Brad Stevens, Brian Hinchcliffe, Glenna Hecht, and Carol Kiburz willingly commit to such an endeavor. Please thank these members for truly representing the best of Business Navigators and America at a time like this. Again, I am humbled by being allowed to be a fellow member of our organization.
Another new committee that is showing the same willingness and commitment to serve is the newly formed Sponsorship Committee. Bob Pene
and Victoria Brown
are the co-chairs of this exceptional group of servant leaders. Also on the committee are Dave Casey, Eddie Reeves, Marc Farmer, Tom Bronson, Jeff Sandene, and Jim Ferguson. The majority of the funds raised will support the expansion of our university Scholarship program. They are also considering if we should provide support to students who are learning from home but do not have internet or devices to support e-learning. Again, an awesome committee with a worthwhile goal. But for me, the most impressive thing is the willingness of our individual members to serve others by leveraging their experiences and contributing their time.
And now an appeal, we have several committees where the committee chairs could use some additional support from you. If you are not currently serving, please contact one of the board members or a committee chair directly. There is a list below of all our committees with their chairpersons. Reach out! All you have to do is click.
Have a safe and productive summer.
