Dear Friends of City Roots CLT,
First off, we will be gathering this evening for our monthly General Interest meeting from 5:30-7pm. Note that we'll be meeting at 228 Melville St! Come learn about the latest happenings with the CLT, give input on future decisions, and check out all the progress we've made on the house!
We'll have some paint and tile samples to choose from for the bathroom and kitchen, and we'll be planning for our next volunteer day (more on that below).
Thank you once again to everyone who's donated time, money, or, in some cases, both to supporting our latest project. We've continued to see a steady stream of a few $5 donations here and a couple $20 donations there over the past few months. And just recently a supporter raised over $500 in a birthday fundraiser for the CLT! Read on for the latest details on the house rehab that these funds are supporting as well as some sneak peek photos of the progress (or come out tonight and see for yourself).
Also in this email: a recap of our trip to visit the Albany CLT and, as always, opportunities for you to get involved in the fight for development without displacement!

There is no Community Land Trust without YOU!
We're looking for folks to help out during our next volunteer day!
In particular, we need folks who are able to hang drywall, mud and sand drywall, paint, and refinish floors. Bonus points if you know how to repair plaster! If you have any or all of those skills and you're willing to offer them for a good cause, email info@cityrootsclt.org or get in touch with someone from the board or Outreach Committee directly.
We'll also need general volunteers who can take direction from a couple leads on various projects, so no worries if you don't have the above skills. We'll figure out more details at tonight's CLT meeting.

Eight of us were able to spend a full day with the Albany CLT last month. They've been around for more than 30 years and had a wealth of knowledge to share! We toured several of their properties, including a couple that are currently being rehabbed. We also met with ACLT's staff and board members to learn more about funding opportunities, job roles, board function, and different models for selling or renting CLT homes. Huge thanks to all of them, especially to the Markovics for hosting and feeding a few of us overnight!
If you missed out on this trip, stay tuned for another one in the spring. There's plenty more we can learn from them, and we'll definitely be getting some more visits in.

Update on The Latest CLT Home
|
|
|
The vision is coming into focus on our CLT House Rehab Project! In addition to the all new electric and all new plumbing throughout the house, hard-lined smoke detectors, and brand new roof, the upstairs bathroom isn't almost finished! Project Phoenix is parging the basement walls and DPH is scheduled to start in the kitchen later next week. More photos below.
This wouldn't have been possible without supporters like YOU!
