Hello City Roots friends!
After months of hard work and dedication, the renovations on our latest CLT house are almost complete! We're selling a beautiful 3-bedroom home on Stunz Street, equipped with updated bathrooms, a fully remodeled kitchen, tile and hardwood floors, a new concrete driveway, interior paint & aluminum siding, all new electric and plumbing, and a brand new roof! We're selling the home to a family with a household income that's 50% or less of the area median income in Rochester. The home is affordably priced at $50,000, with a $40,000 subsidy based on what into the home! Read on for more information including how to apply. Thank you to everyone who continues to help us achieve community control and development without displacement!

We're updating our website! We would love your feedback. There have already been a few noticeable changes made. Check it out here!

We hold our general meeting on the Third Thursday of every month. This is a great time to catch up on what's been going on with the CLT, other members and supporters, and to ask questions!
This Thursday we will be holding our CLT 102 training. We will be talking about the land steward & homeownership aspect of the Community Land Trust! If you're interested in how the land trust works, this is a great training to jump in on! If you're interested in purchasing the CLT home on Stunz Street, this training is required.

Despite the CDC's "moratorium" on evictions and the Governor's recent extension of the Tenant Safe Harbor Act, evictions can still take place across New York State starting this month.
The laws currently in place have a number of gaps that allow evictions to take place. As of October 10th, there are more than 5 evictions that are scheduled to take place very soon, putting our most vulnerable neighbors out on the street.
The Rochester Housing Justice Alliance will be holding an Eviction Blockade training today at 6 pm to prepare folks as best as we can to participate in a blockade. Come out to learn why we're doing this, what an Eviction Blockade is, and how you can join us in this fight to make housing a human right!

City Roots Community Land Trust is dedicated to eradicating racism in our lifetime. This takes life-long learning and unlearning of ideologies that we once thought to be the norm. We want to highlight some of the work that is going on around Rochester focused on anti-racism and taking the steps necessary to learn and to take action.
Our friends at 540WMain are holding a virtual workshop titled Introduction to Antiracism Practice. The workshop will provide an understanding of antiracism, what it means to be antiracist, and through guided facilitation, participants will learn to implement antiracism into their own lives. This workshop is best suited for folks that have a foundational understanding of privilege, microaggressions, implicit bias, and structural racism. Tickets are available for purchase here. If you are interested but cannot afford to pay, scholarships are available and confidential -email info540westmain@gmail.com.
Starting October 20th, the Urban Leauge of Rochester is having a 2 two-day summit with a myriad of classes and trainings including White Supremacy and Male Privilege: The Fatal Poisons Used to Build the American Ideal & Racist Policy and Resistance in Rochester. presented by our board member Shane Weigand! Get a ticket for the Virtual Interrupt Racism Summit here!
