Hello City Roots friends!

Happy New Year! 2020 was a year of many firsts for City Roots CLT. We hired our first Executive Director, Joe Di Fiore. We sold our first CLT home, and we can't wait for more firsts in 2021!

As we head into our fifth year as a Community Land Trust family, we want to thank each and every one of you for all of the work you've put into supporting City Roots. We are amazed everyday by the compassion and kindness of our CLT members & neighbors. Together, we are fortifying the vision of community control, quality affordable housing, and fighting for a better future for all Rochesterians.

You've challenged us to think different, create different, and be the difference that our community needs. We are excited to see what 2021 has in store for City Roots CLT, we hope you're ready to tackle any challenges with us!

Third Thursday: General Member Meeting
Thursday, January 21 from 6:00-7:30 pm

We hold our general meeting on the Third Thursday of every month. This is a great time to catch up on what's been going on with the CLT, other members and supporters, and to ask questions!

This month, our main topic of conversation will be planning for our Annual Meeting! Our Annual meeting is coming up on March 18th at 6pm, and we would love to have community input about what components should be included to make our 2021 meeting the best one yet!

We are also going to have an overview of our board elections, & talk about getting engaged through Slack. City Roots Community Land Trust believes in robust democratic processes. For this general meeting, we want to educate all of our members and future members about what a working board is, and how you can get involved!

See you soon!

If you are interested in joining our Slack, please email Anastajah at

Also, If you've donated to City Roots in any way -money, time, skills- and would be willing to provide a brief testimonial for our website, please reach out to James at

GET INVOLVED: Election Year in Rochester!
It's election year for our municipality, and now's the time to start engaging with Candidates about the impact and importance of Community Land Trusts, community controlled land, and QUALITY housing for all Rochesterians! We all want our voices to be heard, and the more our leaders hear from their constituents about what's important and necessary, the more quality affordable housing we can provide to Rochester.
