To Uptown Waterloo we go - the Incubator hits the road
From technology that is revolutionizing how landmine cleanup is being tackled to peace education curriculum in KW elementary classrooms, come and be informed, inspired, and invited into the changemaking that's happening in the Epp Peace Incubator. Join us on Nov. 7, 7:30 pm at Kindred Credit Union's Uptown Waterloo branch and learn more about the exciting work being done in our incubator.
 
Project Ploughshares' advocacy efforts bear fruit
Cesar Jaramillo, Project Ploughshares Executive Director, urged Canada to join the UN treaty to ban nuclear weapons at a press conference with the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize winners on Oct. 27. This event follows a busy month for Project Ploughshares as three of their members met with NGOs, government officials, and UN delegates in New York and Ottawa. This includes launching the Space Security Index, participating in the Humanitarian Disarmament Forum, and speaking in a press conference on the Arms Trade Treaty. Welcoming the new Grebel president

Marcus Shantz was inaugurated as Conrad Grebel University College's 8th president on Oct 29. The CPA extends a warm welcome to Marcus. Read more about Grebel's president.
Kindred making waves in the banking world
Kindred Credit Union has been accepted into membership in the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) for their commitment to affecting positive change. Through its membership, Kindred will be connected to organizations from around the world. Kindred’s support of the CPA is one tangible way they have worked to build a better world, and the CPA is profiled on the GAVB website to note some of these impacts. Digging deeper into Growing Hope Farm
Epp Peace Incubator member Growing Hope Farm is expanding! A recent grant will allow them to increase their capacity for peace advancement through growing their farm, which will in turn provide more opportunities for employing at risk youth from the Region of Waterloo.

Growing Hope Farm is a non-for-profit farm growing organic food and nurturing at-risk youth with job training and volunteer opportunities. Currently, there are six groups of volunteers coming each week. Recently Growing Hope Farm was featured on CTV KW! Watch the video and learn more about this peace producing farm.

Peace Incubator Showcase - Nov. 7, 2017
Join us at 7:30 PM at Kindred Credit Union's Uptown Waterloo branch to learn about the inspiring ventures participating in the Epp Peace Incubator program this Fall.  

How Change Happens - Nov. 8. 2017
Learn about poverty and gender inequality from Duncan Green, the author of How Change Happens, as well as the president of the Jamaica Household Workers Union, and the Executive Director of Oxfam Canada. 

Painting a Picture of Dignity exhibit - Sept. 7 to Dec. 15, 2017
An initiative of Marlena Books, Painting a Picture of Dignity explores the theme of dignity from the lens of people who are experiencing Alzheimer's and dementia. Community members are welcome to come to the Grebel Gallery to explore the intersection of peace and Alzheimer’s awareness.
