Come celebrate with us
online every Sunday
at 9:45 am

Hello Jubilants,

Grace is one of those words that’s a little like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart’s observation about his ability (or lack thereof) to define obscenity: “I know it when I see it.” We can observe graceful dancers or display grace under pressure, we can say grace at meals or sing Amazing Grace, but it’s a little hard to define just what grace is. Still, somehow, we feel better knowing it’s available to us. Everyone needs a little grace. Or a lot.

This week Charley Castex - Jubilant, drummer, renowned psychic and author of his new book, Expand Your Spiritual Bandwidth - will be rooting and grounding us in grace. And really, isn’t most of what we do as a community grounded in grace? This week’s newsletter provides several ways to offer and receive grace including racial and environmental justice opportunities, a finger labyrinth meditation, and sharing the joy of Jubilee!'s Sunday celebrations with your friends and family.

Anne Lamott says, “I do not at all understand the mystery of grace - only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.”

Looking forward to you gracing us with your presence this Sunday,

So Many Ways to Contribute & Connect

As many of you already know, Johanna Manasse holds full moon walks on the beautiful outdoor labyrinth at her home each month. Since Friday is likely to be rainy, Johanna shares with us another option: participating in a free online finger labyrinth walk and meditation at 3 pm EST. Organized by Veriditas, an international organization devoted to inspiring transformation through the labyrinth experience, this week's theme is "setting our intentions to welcome delight."  Register here for the finger labyrinth walk and meditation. Johanna says that in the wee hours of Saturday morning (12:17am) the moon is full. If the weather holds for the rest of the day, you are invited to walk under the glorious moonshine between 7-8:30 PM at her home (220 Forest Knoll Ct. Weaverville) to chanting and a wee bit of drumming.

Did you know you can invite your friends and family from here in the mountains or anywhere in the world to our Sunday celebrations?  Starting next week...and continuing for three weeks...we are challenging Jubilants to invite 10 friends and family members to virtually join together with them (and our whole community) via Jubilee!'s Zoom celebrations to share our songs, wisdom, love and prayers.  Details on how you can participate will be emailed early next week.

Creation Care Alliance presents a conversation about the importance and legacy of the environmental justice movement in North Carolina on Friday. February 26th from 10-11am on Zoom.  The event will cover the realities of environmental racism and opportunities to work toward environmental justice in this political moment. Click here for details.

Story Medicine Worldwide, founded by recent Jubilee! speaker Meta Commerse, celebrates 10 years of an indigenous Path to Racial Healing on March 12-14.  The three-day online event will feature story telling, music and Q&A, as well as breakout rooms for telling your own story.  Meta will sing the audience into community and speak about applying the concept of story medicine to racial healing at 6:30-8:30pm on opening day. Learn more register here.

We know it's not the same as filling the basket in person, but there are lots of different ways you can donate to Jubilee! and the Hunger Basket.  Please give as generously as you can!
