forloop Weekly

Hey, how's today for the last Sunday in October, mm?
I hope you've had a restful and amazing weekend.

It's only 4 days to the end of Hacktoberfest. If you've sent in even just one PR for a contribution, I would like to thank you on behalf of everyone in the global tech community. Believe me when I say I speak for them, and that the tech is better for your contribution to an open-source project out there. If you're yet to contribute, you still have over 196 hours! Do some good :)

- If you're an Android developer, you probably followed the happenings at the 2019 Android Dev Summit. As an answer to the prayers of developers who crave the means to make the UI of their apps more beautiful, Google announced the release of Jetpack Compose in the soon-to-come Android Studio 4.0. Jetpack Compose is simply a modern toolkit for building nicer Android UIs. Jetpack Compose does this by offering tools and Kotlin APIs to facilitate developing these interfaces. Read more about it here.

- ElectronJS 7.0 has been released. This version packs new features, updates, and changes. Check out the release notes here to learn more.

- You find that often times, a good number of digital services you love have Android apps but not Apple apps. A lot of times, this is due to a limitation in access to the necessary Apple APIs that the service/app may need. In this article, Matt Ronge talks about what it takes to build a business that relies heavily on Apple's APIs
