Loreto Highlights Update - 27th May 2022

May Procession
('O Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels and Queen of the May.')
The month of May is dedicated to Our Lady, Mary. To mark this, on Tuesday 24th May, Mon. Paul and Fr Gavin led our annual May Procession where we crowned our statue of Our Lady with a garland of flowers. Pupils prayed a decade of the rosary for our special intentions for peace. It was a reverent and moving act of worship.
Thank you to parents and pupils for the beautiful flowers offered during this month.

Magnetizing
During their science lesson Year 3 had lots of fun investigating magnets.
They observed how magnets attract or repel each other and attract some materials and not others.
They learned that magnets have two poles, north and south and are made from magnetic materials such as cobalt, iron, nickel, and steel.

Jubilee Play
Our Year 1 pupils have performed a special Jubilee play for their parents and invited guests.

Goodbye & Good Luck.
Today we said a fond farewell to Alisha who has been on her college placement in our Loreto Nursery.  Alisha has come over from the UK, staying in Gibraltar since March.  She has become a valued member of the Nursery team where she has gained a breath of knowledge and experience.  We wish her all the best in her career in Early Years childcare.
