Loreto Highlights Update - 16th September 2022
Welcome back
I hope you have enjoyed the summer holidays and are now ready to settle back into school life.
It has been a sad start to the new academic year, and we will be paying tribute to The Queen during our International Day of Peace Service next week. The pupils in Year 6 have also recorded one of the Queen’s favourite songs which you can view by clicking on the video below – I am sure you will enjoy it.
I look forward to meeting most parents next week during our ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions – please find further details attached.
Wishing you a peaceful weekend and reflective Monday.
Looking forward to seeing you next week.
Mrs Napoli
A Tribute To Queen Elizabeth II

All About Me
Miss Pou's Year 2 class learnt a lot about each other during the first week back at school.  The pupils made an "all about me" banner!
Year 1
Our Numeracy lessons have begun...
We have been busy bees revising our numbers to 10 after the long summer break!
Gold Book
Well done to pupils in Lower Primary and Foundation Stage 2 who were presented with their Gold Award certificates and gold pencils.
Computing
Our Foundation Stage 2 classes have enjoyed their lesson using the computers for the first time.  They have been applying skills to help them use a mouse, clicking the right and left mouse buttons.
Class 2M have enjoyed their first 2 weeks back having fun using the computers.
Traffic Free Tuesday
Loreto pupils walk to school on #TrafficFreeTuesday. This environmentally-aware group of young people show that we do not need to jump into our cars every day and but not doing so, will improve the quality of the air we breathe.
We are now looking for parents and pupils to join us in this initiative…contact the school for more information.

National Day
As part of our Geography curriculum, Year 3 pupils have been learning all about National Day and how it is the most important day in the Gibraltar cultural calendar. Celebrated on the 10th of September every year, it is a day where Gibraltarians celebrate being Gibraltarian and British. One of the most important aspects of National Day is the singing of Gibraltar's national songs, Llévame Donde Nací and the Gibraltar Anthem.
