Faith Diary ‘On this first Sunday of Advent the Gospel message is ‘be prepared!’ We all enjoy the flurry and hurry of getting ready for Christmas, but this year - of all years! - we should pause and consider what aspects of our lives we really need to prepare, and maybe repair, in order to be spiritually as well materially ready to welcome the coming of our Saviour.’
The Nautilus Project The year 6 children enjoyed a talk this week by Lewis Stagnetto of The Nautilus Project on the marine invertebrates found in Gibraltar waters. They learnt some fascinating facts such as how a starfish eats a mussel (its guts are ejected and digestion happens externally), how many eyes a starfish has (five - one at the end of each arm) and how sea cucumbers defend themselves against predatory crabs (by ejecting sticky strands). These lucky pupils will be following up on this week's talk by attending a field trip next week where we hope they can see some of these amazing creatures in the flesh.
Parent's Weekly Focus - Internet Of Things (IOT) This week's online safety focus for parents is looking at IOT as we approach the festive season and more IOT devices will enter the home. Connected devices and toys can be found in most homes, and have changed how many of us go about our daily lives and how children interact and play. Take a look at these tips to find out about about the IOT and how you can make your connection at home more secure.
