Hello Capri Families,

As we face the Corona Virus threat, I want to reassure you that our district is taking every precaution necessary to keep children, and our employees safe. EUSD is proactively sharing information daily, from the CDC and the California Department of Health, with principals, so that we have the most updated information. At this point, we are encouraging extra hand-washing, using hand-sanitizers before eating, and monitoring all students for any persistent or unusual symptoms.  We have also reviewed the CDC recommendations for field trips and there are currently no recommendations for cancelling field trips where there are no known outbreaks. Parents can elect to keep their students back, if they choose to do so. In such a case, we will provide an  alternative option for them at the school. Please see the attached flyers with more factual information about the Corona Virus.

On a lighter note, I have been sharing parenting tidbits here each week, in an attempt to offer small insights for parents to ponder. Navigating the work we do as parents is strenuous at best and in order to do the heavy lifting it requires, I thought I would continue this practice and draw from my own successes and failures. I hope you know how much your children mean to me, and if I can share anything that helps you to help them, than I have done  something worthwhile on this lovely March day! Here is my wisdom today:

~ Put your relationship first and your relationship with your child a close second~ Your children will benefit from a stable home, one where they see a loving relationship modeled so that they might feel safe and learn the skills of cooperation, collaboration, and negotiation. When you see a struggling child you will often find a struggling adult relationship. In addition, your children also need your time, attention, and interest in them more than money and material items.

Stay healthy my Capri Families,
Principal Lancon

Directora Lancon
