Dear Capri Parents,

One word comes that comes to mind at the end of this week – resilience.  While we are still figuring out the nuances of distance learning, and we continue to deal with the challenges of physical distancing, I’m seeing a tide of strength form within all of us.

Out of the exhaustion, anxiety, frustration and deep sadness, there is a fighting spirit to make us whole and healthy again and also a commitment to our work. Parents and teachers are working double-shifts, maintaining personal lives and supporting children in their learning. None of this is easy.

And yet, I see resilience. I see it in the incredible work of our teachers. I see it in the new and creative ways parents are supporting children at home, and in the dogged determination of our EUSD leadership team to ensure the safety and well being of our students, and staff during and after this crisis.

This weekend, enjoy your families, celebrate your faith, and take comfort in the fact that we ARE resilient and we will get through this together.  Have a good weekend and please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.  #WeGotThis.

What's Happening at EEF?
Encinitas Educational Foundation

Currently over 500 EUSD students and their families are experiencing food insecurity and are receiving hot lunches and breakfasts from EUSD at Ocean Knoll Elementary on Mondays and Wednesdays. TOGETHER, we have given out over 4,000 Bags of Food, 500 Smart & Final Gift Cards, and 600 Loaves of Bread to each of these families. We have raised almost $70,000 and the need continues.

As we mentioned last week, we have partnered with Flippin Pizza-Encinitas, furthering our efforts to support our local businesses while simultaneously bringing awareness to the Be Strong/Sé Fuerte Fund. Flippin reported that last week was a HUGE SUCCESS - they are still calculating the proceeds, but they ran out of dough and had a line out the door for take out (6 feet apart)!!!

DONATE HERE
Over weeks (April 21 - May 26), Flippin Pizza will offer Take Out Tuesdays where 25% of sales will be donated to the EEF Be Strong/ Sé Fuerte Campaign. Please distribute the following information and the attached flyers to your families this week. We really appreciate the support!
