Dear Capri Families-

Thanks to the organizers, Alexis and Ross Garrett, Krista Kendall-Depp, Cathleen Kenny, Glen Seidner, and Jolene Alldredge,  and supporters-Capri Families,  of this year’s Community Serve Day! Many projects were started and completed in three hours and the campus looks fresh and welcoming. See photos below of the work in action. Also, a Capri Shout-out to Lazy Acres for their 100% donation of tasty treats to feed our volunteers. What a huge surprise that was! (Photos attached in separate email to be included)

One task that was completed was a campus-wide collection of clothing items and lunchboxes. The plethora of jackets and coats will be donated on 2-28-2020 so please take a moment to stop by and claim your child’s belongings. Better yet- ask your child to take a look during their recess so they can learn the valuable lesson of taking care of one’s things.

This leads me to the Parenting Tip of the Week:
Stop Rescuing Your Child- allow your child to learn from their mistakes and work through their problem and its consequences so that they can develop problem solving skills and solutions. If you solve the problem for them they learn only one thing; that you will always take care of it.

Please find attached a valuable technology resource, created by EUSD’s own Glen Warren. It addresses, among other things, Tik Tok, and its damaging consequences.  CLICK HERE

Don't forget the Auction team is still requesting donations for the online auction that starts Thursday, March 5th @ 8am.  If you have a business and/or can donate an item, gift card or experience, please drop it off in the office before Wednesday of next week.  All funds raised financially supports Art, Music, PE and Science.

Yours in parenting,
Principal Carrie Lancon

CLICK HERE

Carrie Lancon Directora

Students residing in the San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) boundary, who will be in grade 7 in the 2020-21 school year, can apply for an intradistrict transfer (IDT).  An intradistrict transfer is when parents/guardians wish to enroll their student at a school other than the designated school that is in their attendance boundary area.  Your student’s designated school boundary is based on where you physically reside, not what elementary school your student currently attends.  Transfers will be approved on a space-available basis after all students who live in the school’s boundary are enrolled.
The online application window opens Monday, February 3, 2020 @ 8:00 am and closes Friday, February 21, 2020 @ 4:00 pm.
