Hello Capri Families,

Regarding COVID-19, our Encinitas Union School District Office, under the direction of Superintendent Andree Grey, has provided guidance to our nine principals, to identify plans and protocols in preparation for the possibility of school closures, and for communicating with families due to a public health concern.

In this case, the decision to close our school would either come from the district, or ideally from our local county public health officials. I ask that you trust our district leadership, as well as public health officials, to handle the potential of these situations with professionalism and calmness, and as always, with the safety of our students and staff as the utmost priority.

It is important to note that so much of protecting yourself and your family comes from common sense practices, such as washing your hands with soap and water, staying away from work or school if you become sick with typical COVID-19 symptoms, and of course, following guidance from public health officials. We will continue to stay in close contact with public health officials, monitoring the situation with the experts, and as applicable, supporting our schools as needed.

On a much lighter note, the flock of pink flamingos, that has graced our Capri front yard, and those of so many of you, is ready for flight this weekend! I hope we can relax and laugh together at the Gala on Saturday night. Also, the last of three DLI Parent information nights, for incoming kindergarten parents, is happening on Monday, March 16 at 6:00 here at Capri. Please remind anyone interested to attend if they have not already gone to a prior meeting.

Please enjoy these pictures of our community service day last month,

Principal Carrie Lancon

Directora Carrie  Lancon
