Perfect Parenting- Myth or Reality?

Over the course of the last few weeks, I have had a few things in my own life that have required me to step back and look at my practices as a parent. I have been blessed with what I like to call “easy” kids. They did well in school, played sports, are polite and loving and enjoy our time as a family. Yet, having said that all too often, I was recently dished out a few reminders that things are not always as they seem. So what is the point of all this? Well- the point is that here at Capri, I am witness to all types of parenting for all types of kids. Sometimes stellar and sometimes not so much. At times, I wish there was some magic to offer up to those parents who come to me in need. I try to extend a compassionate ear and I try to direct people to solid resources. And then- Wham! It happens to me- I am faced with parenting decisions and there is no easy answer. Bottom line- kids need us to provide structure, routine, high expectations and unconditional love. That’s it really. Will they make mistakes? Absolutely. Will we question ourselves as parents- you bet.  I want to remind all of you what I tell the kids each morning during my announcements: It is normal to make mistakes, it is learning from those mistakes that counts. Remember, the choice is yours!

Please join me for our monthly Principal Coffee Chat. Tomorrow, 11-8-19, we will meet in the Capri Commons at 8:10 and the agenda is yours! I will be there to chat and answer questions that you may have regarding our school and its programs.

During this time of thanks giving, thanks to all of you who have made and continue to make a difference at our school. We are so blessed!

In gratitude,

Principal Lancon

Crianza Perfecta:? Mito o Realidad?
Algunos estelares y algunos no tanto.
Estamos bendecidos!

En gratitud,
Directora Lancon
