You're invited to come see us at the Canada Day Festivities in Sechelt! Our summer interns Emma and Graham will be there along with our new solar trailer

Summer interns Emma, a third year chemical engineering student at UBC and Graham, a third year electrical engineering student at UVic are hard at work carrying out solar potential evaluations and energy audits for multiple  SCRD and municipal buildings such as the Museum in lower Gibsons.

The long awaited thermal solar domestic hot water system finally arrived at the SPCA shelter on Solar Rd and our two interns rolled up their sleeves! Two large pallets of equipment weighing over a ton had to be unpacked. Over a few weeks, Emma & Graham will take part assembling & installing the system along with SCCSA volunteers and our plumbing & HVAC contractor, Coast Climate Control.

It's a wrap on Megan and Cody Kelso's Elevate for the Environment fundraiser. They thank the community and say, "We managed to raise $17425.00 ($4608.66 for the Nature trust of BC and $12816.34 for the Heritage Playhouse). Though not the $30000 goal we were hoping for, we are still waiting to hear about a grant that will push us over that goal!" This year proved to be a challenge with the cold and wind, but the team effort paid off.

The Solar Association thanks everyone who contributed with special thanks to the Sunshine Coast Credit Union for their generous grant. Grateful thanks also to the Rotary Club for their generous donation to the fundraising effort.
