What's New with NEMCSA?

June 2018

NEMCSA Volunteers are Recognized

Last month the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) celebrated
the service
and commitment of the Foster Grandparent volunteers at their 43rd Recognition Luncheon. Over 90 people attended the event including 22 teachers and principals, some traveling from as far as Arenac, Crawford, and Oscoda counties in support of their FGP volunteers.

On June 12th volunteers for the Senior Companion Program were also recognized and honored for their many hours of service and dedication. Many volunteers commented on how much they benefited from volunteering and how it truly changed their lives. Great job for another year of success with NEMCSA's volunteer programs!

RSVP teamed up with the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office to sponsor a blood drive.
On June 18th NEMCSA's RSVP partnered with the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office and the VFW post to host another successful Red Cross Drive in northern Michigan. Just under 60 people donated blood during this event.  RSVP has partnered with Roscommon and Crawford counties along with several RSVP volunteers to administer blood drives.

One donor was asked why she likes to participate and donate blood:
“It literally takes me 45 minutes to save a life- it is such a great feeling!”
