Getting to Know Our Many PLT Facilitators

PLT Facilitators

Thank you, PLT facilitators! Colorado Project Learning Tree relies on a network of facilitators located across the state to offer trainings to educators in our award-winning program.

It has been my pleasure to visit with many of our facilitators over the past couple of weeks. I've enjoyed hearing about all the great things they are doing, like Rafael Salgado (far left in the above photo), a Colorado PLT facilitator who recently helped bring PLT to Chile!

This great group of folks is committed to making Colorado PLT successful. While our in-person events have been postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis, PLT is committed to providing meaningful online trainings and resources for our Colorado communities. Check out the rest of this newsletter for various virtual opportunities to engage yourself and your students!

EDUCATOR TIPS

PLT E-Units: Online Training Anytime, Anywhere

PLT E-Units
National PLT currently offers several online courses:

These workshops are self-paced courses composed of several 20-30 minute learning experiences, called “coursels.” Each coursel follows best practices in online learning and teacher professional development, preparing educators to integrate environmental education materials into their instruction.

Want to learn more? Watch a video about PLT's online workshops, and get a sneak peek of PLT's E-Units for Grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.

Online Resources to Help You Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day activities from PLTThis April 22 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! PLT has fun resources to celebrate with your students. Check out these PLT activities to inspire your students and make a difference. The webpage includes a great new curriculum to teach about climate change. It also includes fun activities for families to do at home and a mobile app-based citizen science project.

Need some more inspiration? Check out the Earth Week Virtual Summit on April 13-18 to get hands-on actionable tips and inspiration from Colorado community leaders and experts. This online gathering includes six days of free, live interactive workshops. It is a great way to connect and share resources with others who want to make a bigger difference for the environment.
