There were 44 riders representing TeamAUSBMX on day 2 of the world championships, and every single one of them gave it all their all, battling their fellow competitors and scorching temperatures. Here’s what happened.
Another day of world championship racing and Australia have bagged themselves another handful of world plates. Cameron Gatt (pictured) from Geelong, Stephanie Alexander from Knox, Amelia Stichbury from Tuggeranong and Molly Williamson from Redlands, all made it to their respective finals and were pushed to the limit on an extremely competitive day.
Making it to his second world championship final in as many days was national champion, Gatt. Competing in the 11-boy’s, the Victorian had a point to prove after his eighth-place cruiser final the day before, and he was heard loud and clear finishing fourth out of 164 riders.
Competing in two whirlwind days of worlds can leave any rider exhausted, but the youngster came away proud of what he had achieved.
