More Info and Entry
Australian Masters Games Perth

Please see below a message from Masters Swimming WA Executive Officer Andrew Stanbury:

Unfortunately, as you will by now be aware, the Australian Masters Games (AMG), scheduled for Perth in October, has been postponed because of the impact of COVID-19 in the Eastern States.

The Games have been rescheduled for 23 to 30 April 2022. Full refunds are available for those who registered for the October 2021 Games - although we hope all of you in WA who registered and are still available for the new date will roll your entry over. For more information on the newly scheduled Games in 2022, please visit the AMG website.

A note about the new date for swimming:

Masters Swimming WA did not have any control over the chosen dates of the Games. At this stage we are planning to run the same swim program over the same duration – three days – from Thursday 28 April to Saturday 30 April. This may be subject to change depending on entry demand, recognising that swimmers’ availability may be impacted by conflicting event, work or other commitments. The MSA Nationals in Sydney close on Sunday 24 April, for example, which we understand will impact some swimmers. However, the dates were set by AMG to reflect the preferences of the majority of all the participating sports.

What we do know is that there was great demand for October’s event. Entries from WA swimmers alone exceeded the total entries from all States at the last Games in Adelaide in 2019. So, the Games in 2022 promises to be well supported and a great opportunity to experience fantastic competition and a great social program and vibe. Don’t miss out!

We’ll stay in touch with more detail on the swimming program as the event takes shape. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Golden Groper Relay Carnival

Congratulations to Claremont Masters Swimming Club, who ran an amazing Relay Carnival on Saturday 11 September 2021 at HBF Stadium. We've added some of our favourite pictures in the GIF above! More photographs are available on our Facebook page.

The Golden Groper Relay Carnival is an iconic event on the Masters Swimming WA Calendar, often attracting more participants than the State Championships! This year the meet had over 300 swimmers with teams from 18 Masters Clubs.

Smaller clubs also banded together to form teams, and there were heaps of new records set!

Lets Swim Together 2021

When is it?
The weekend of 29 - 31 October

What's it all about?
Lets Swim Together is a membership drive campaign involving series of syndicated 'come and try events' across the weekend of 29-31 October 2021. The overall aim is to have new members join clubs and to elevate the profile of Masters Swimming as a sport in WA. Clubs can choose whether or not to participate in the campaign, but we hope to see as many as possible involved.

Participating clubs pick their preferred date, time and venue. Clubs will run a swim session open to members and the general public, followed by a social event (usually a coffee or BBQ after the swim). Having the social event alongside the swim allows visitors to your club to experience the club culture as a whole and get a feel for whether they'll fit in. Sessions should be free and participants are not obligated to join, but if they like the session they might!

Masters Swimming WA provides digital resources and support for participating clubs, manages general enquiries, and helps to promote all sessions through our platforms and paid advertising.

How can I get involved?

More information will be sent directly to club committee members and contacts via email in the coming weeks. Masters Swimming WA is in the process of updating the Campaign Toolkit and other resources for clubs and will be in touch shortly regarding how to get involved. The more clubs that are involved, the better the campaign will work generally.

Participating clubs will need volunteers to help run the swim session and social event, so if you're interested please ask your club committee. You can also help your club out by spreading the word and inviting your friends, family and colleagues to join in the session.
