We'll have something for everyone, including lots of new offerings for this year. Please join in this worthy cause and together let's beat our donation total of 3,800 lbs last year!

Mitch Charter School students and residents of Brookdale River Valley Tualatin Senior Living have been busy planting seed starts that will be ready for your garden in May.  Here are some of the plant varieties that we will have available.
  • Black plum tomato (great heirloom sauce tomato without the blossom end rot, very prolific)
  • Nebraska wedding tomato (an orange heirloom tomato great for slicing)
  • Sungold tomato (delicious orange-yellow cherry)
  • Cuore di Bue tomato (very early red tomato)
  • Black cherry tomato (very prolific and delicious reddish clack heirloom cherry, high in nutrition)
  • Paul Robeson tomato (reddish brown heirloom with an award winning flavor)
  • Cherokee Purple tomato (delicious heirloom, very nutritious, great slicer for those BLTs)
  • Caitlin's Lucky Stripe tomato (an heirloom with stripes!)
  • Ancho Gigantea pepper (large poblano pepper, low heat)
  • Beaver Dam pepper (large red Hungarian pepper, medium heat)
  • Toll's Sweet Italian pepper (large, sweet pepper, no heat)
  • Early Jalapeño (small hot pepper)
We'll also have Zinnia's - plant these for more squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes because bumblebees love them!  In addition, Sweet basil, Greek Oregano, Garlic Chives and Garden Thyme will be available for your herb garden.

You probably won't find most of these at your local nursery.  We choose plants that grow well in the area, and are also high in nutritional content. As you can see, we'll have something for everyone, including lots of new offerings for this year.
Neighbors Nourishing Communities (NNC) is an organization of neighbors gardening to raise fresh produce for local families in need of food support.  We provide plants, seeds, instruction and site consultations in exchange for 20% of the produce raised.
